Securing a future career

The brand-new facilities and highly-qualified staff at UCB were enough to convince future public servant Joseph to switch schools for A-Level, and he soon realised he’d chosen the perfect place to advance his degree ambitions.

“I really wanted a fresh start at a place that I knew would support me, and help me on my journey,” he said.

“Staff are brilliant at adapting lessons to the needs of the students, and we all get to benefit from a fresh new teaching environment and new equipment.”

During his studies, Joseph has enjoyed the chance to combine deeper study of subjects he’s always enjoyed with hands-on experiences outside of the classroom.

“I’ve always loved History and English, and intended to continue studying them at A-Level,” he said.

“With trips like our visit to the Newark Civil War Centre we were given the chance to fully appreciate everything we’d learned in class.”

With plans to study criminology or professional policing at university, Joseph knows he’s covered all the bases with his A-Level choices.

“They’ve given me a range of knowledge and experiences I know will be vital when taking the next step.”
