"I’m passionate about breaking down complex scientific concepts, and helping students to understand their relevance."

I’m a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) with experience teaching science across both further education (FE) and higher education (HE). I teach Applied Science at FE level here at UCB, where I’m passionate about breaking down complex scientific concepts and helping students to understand their relevance.

My teaching journey began in India, where I taught Chemistry at secondary and undergraduate levels. Since moving to the UK, I’ve taught on Pearson BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes, working with diverse groups of students and developing active, inclusive approaches to learning. My diverse experiences shape my teaching and allow me to meet each student where they are and support them to progress with confidence.

I’m inspired by the transformation of students through education, both personally and professionally. I’m motivated every day by seeing learners grow in confidence, develop new skills, and achieve their potential.

My students often tell me they enjoy the interactive nature of my classes, and I aim to ensure that each course I teach is not only rigorous in terms of its curriculum but also relevant to students’ personal and professional goals.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy exploring new places, spending time in nature, and learning about digital tools that can enhance my teaching. I take time out to relax with a good comedy or drama series on TV, or by listening to motivational podcasts.
