Academic qualifications

MSc in Energy and Sustainable Development, Masters in Business Administration (MBA)

"Completing my Master’s degree relatively recently means that I have a deep understanding of the pressures students face, and I feel well placed to empathise with their challenges."

With over two decades of industry experience as a mechanical engineer, including time served on an apprenticeship, I bring a practical and well-rounded perspective to my teaching. My expertise lies in Building Services Engineering, and I have a strong interest in Sustainable Construction, the Circular Economy, and Renewable Energy Solutions that are scalable.

At UCB, I teach on our following courses: MSc in Construction Management; BSc (Hons) Construction Management, and our HNC in Building Services Engineering. I take great pride in helping the next generation of Construction and Building Services Engineering students fulfil their potential and become experts in their fields.

My professional journey includes working as a Mechanical Tool Fitter and Maintenance Fitter across various companies, which gave me valuable real-world insight into engineering practices that I’m able to share with my students.

My teaching career began with a role in ICT instruction at St Philips Sixth Form Centre and later South & City College, and I also served as Assistant Director - overseeing Professional Studies in Construction from Level 3 through to Degree level, including Civil Engineering and Building Services Engineering.

Completing my Master’s degree relatively recently means that I have a deep understanding of the pressures students face, and I feel well placed to empathise with their challenges. My own academic journey as a mature student is one of my proudest achievements, and I am passionate about using that experience in supporting others on their own educational path.

My advice to students? Never let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve something - just go for it!

Outside of work, I enjoy walking my dog, attending various sports events, and reading books by James Patterson and Lee Child.
