"As someone with expertise in both early childhood education and business management, I show students that empathy, leadership, and strategic thinking are essential in every field."

My students call me Muz, and I bring a unique blend of expertise in both early childhood education and business management to my teaching at UCB. My deep understanding of child development theories, play-based learning, and early learning frameworks enables me to design and deliver age-appropriate, engaging, and inclusive lessons that support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive growth. Drawing on extensive academic and professional experience in the early years sector, I ground my teaching in real-world practice, promoting inclusive strategies and igniting curiosity in future practitioners.

Alongside my early years expertise, I hold a Master’s in Enterprise Management and I’m a member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). I’ve taught a range of business and management subjects at both Further and Higher Education levels, and I regularly deliver lectures on marketing, consumer behaviour, market research, entrepreneurship, business planning, organisational behaviour, and business strategy.

I also have interests and expertise in curriculum design, assessment, and the application of digital pedagogy and artificial intelligence. My cross-disciplinary experience enables me to bridge the worlds of education and business, showing students that empathy, leadership, and strategic thinking are essential in every field.

I believe that education is a transformative journey, and my top priority is making sure that every student feels welcomed, respected, and capable of reaching their goals. When students face challenges, I take a personalised, empathetic approach to help them break down obstacles and find a path forward. My students consistently value my clarity, practical approach, and the inclusive, supportive atmosphere I create in the classroom.

In my spare time, I’m passionate about travel, exploring different cultures, and engaging with new ideas.

I’m inspired by resources that bridge education, psychology, and business, such as “The Diary of a CEO” podcast and “The Whole-Brain Child” book, and I seek to bring the insights I gain from them into my teaching. I’m constantly inspired by Yeats’s idea that “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.”
