I bring vast expertise in construction management, land surveying, design, quantity surveying and sustainability. I teach on our BTEC Construction and the Built Environment (Level 2 and 3) and the T-Level in Design, Surveying and Planning courses. I’m a member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

I’ve been teaching for more than ten years, and was inspired to join UCB because of its strong focus on applied learning and industry‑focused education. I previously worked as a site engineer, quantity surveyor and cost estimation engineer, and autoCAD engineer, and these roles gave me a strong practical foundation that I’m able to share with my students.

I really enjoy turning complex, real‑world concepts into meaningful learning experiences that help students confidently apply their knowledge on-site and in the workplace - my students also tell me that this is the part of our work that they enjoy the most. I aim to create an atmosphere in which everyone feels comfortable asking questions and I encourage my students to stay curious and make the most of their studies.

I often come across the myth that land surveying is just about taking measurements, but in fact it’s a highly analytical and technically advanced field that requires strong problem‑solving skills, spatial awareness and the use of modern technologies such as GPS, GIS and drones.

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and exploring activities that help me relax - I’m particularly interested in design and drawing. A quote that always resonates with me is from Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.”
