"Receiving an NMC commendation in 2024 was the highlight of my career so far, as it recognised the pioneering work behind our Specialist Community Practice Qualification."

I’m a registered nurse with professional qualifications and membership under the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) holding a PIN, specialising in aesthetic practice, safeguarding, equity, diversity and inclusion, professional development, health and wellbeing, and programme development. I teach across a range of courses, including our MSc Public Health, V300, BSc Nursing, and MSc Dietetics.

My industry background includes working as a nurse specialising in Looked After Children, where I developed expert knowledge and practical skills that I bring directly into my teaching. In 2024, I was honoured to receive an NMC commendation following the validation of our Specialist Community Practice Qualification, which highlighted that this qualification is pioneering and supported by robust programme and practice learning frameworks that are approved by the NMC. I was incredibly proud to receive this commendation, and being recognised in this way has been the highlight of my career so far.

In my teaching role, I’m motivated by the idea that I’m helping students grow into confident leaders in healthcare, especially through holistic support and advocating for underrepresented communities.

I firmly believe that one failed assessment does not define you; the most important thing is to keep moving forward with resilience and determination.

Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym and singing.
