"Having once been a Bakery student at UCB myself, I’m especially proud of my journey from student to lecturer at an institution that has truly shaped my career."

With specific expertise in confectionery, patisserie, cake decorating, health and nutrition, and food safety, I combine industry experience as a cake decorator and store team leader with a passion for developing future bakery professionals. I draw on a deep knowledge of cake decorating, modern baking techniques, and current industry trends to create realistic scenarios within the classroom.
Having once been a Bakery student at UCB myself, I’m especially proud of my journey from student to lecturer at an institution that has truly shaped my career. I qualified as a teacher while working as a graduate teaching assistant. I’m also a member of the Alliance for Bakery Students & Trainees.
I’m constantly inspired by the creativity and individuality that bakery offers, encouraging students to experiment with new flavours and express themselves through their bakes. I am particularly passionate about health-conscious and nutritional baking, believing that good health and well-being are cornerstones of a fulfilling life. For me, bakery is not just about artistry - we’re scientists too!
What I enjoy most about lecturing at UCB is getting to know students, learning about their diverse backgrounds, and seeing them grow, mature, and share their enthusiasm for baking. My students often say they appreciate my engaging presentations, calm and approachable manner, and the element of fun I bring to each lesson. I prioritise frequent check-ins with students and offer ongoing advice. If a student is struggling, I’m proactive in providing guidance and connecting them with the helplines and support available.
My teaching philosophy is simple: you get out as much as you put in.
Outside of work, I love the gym and all things health and fitness, am an active member of a run club, and spend time developing nutritional recipes. My motto in life is: “Stick to the plan, not the mood”.
