I began my career journey as an apprentice, completed a two year training within my Salon and studying at Walsall College. Within three years I became a Manager, Senior Stylist and Trainer. Through working hard gaining the experience I needed, after nine years I set up my own business as Director and also worked freelance; balancing both roles was not easy! In 2004/05 I joined The College of Food (University College Birmingham) as I needed a new challenge, teaching NVQ level 2 & 3 Hairdressing. I completed my teaching qualification at University of Greenwich in 2006. In 2011 I was delighted when I completed my BA Hon’s In Business with Birmingham University. I’m a bit of a relic now, having been on-board since the infancy of the Specialist Hair and Media Makeup course!
Utilising all the experience I have gained within the industry and education, I am fortunate enough to be aiding others to develop their skills on the FdA/BA (Hons) Specialist Hair and Media Make-up Programme.
