Academic qualifications

Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Electrical Electronics Engineering, MSc in Control Systems

"I believe in developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviours that match the needs of employers today."

I specialise in electronics circuit design, microcontrollers and embedded systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and control systems, robotics and manufacturing, and MATLAB. My industry background includes electronics repairs and servicing, electronics circuit design and analysis, installation of single-phase inverters, and computer programming using Python and C.

I chose to teach at UCB because I believe in developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviours that match the needs of employers today. In my teaching, I draw on my professional experiences to bring engineering to life for students - and build the key skills they will need in the workplace. Whether it’s designing and simulating analogue and digital circuits in Proteus or Multisim, troubleshooting real-world issues, or developing control systems, I focus on helping students to see the practical applications of what they’re learning.

Students often tell me that they enjoy the practical activities in my sessions and the way I simplify complex ideas into manageable concepts. I was honoured to be nominated for both the Best Personal Tutor Award and the Inspirational Teaching Award in the ‘Spotlight on’ awards in 2025.

A common misconception I challenge in our field is that engineering is only about cars - it’s actually far broader, spanning industries from manufacturing to automation and beyond. In our industry, I’m most inspired by the ways in which engineers must problem-solve, bridge theory and practice, and stay aligned with current trends.

In my spare time, I enjoy designing and building electronic circuits, improving my programming skills, and reading academic journals to stay up to date in the field of engineering. I also enjoy travelling and bowling. I believe in making every day count - never let your yesterday be better than today!
