I’m passionate about environmental sustainability, public and environmental health, science education, and research in environmental education and public health. I teach on our Applied Science course.
I bring over 25 years of experience teaching across further education (FE) and higher education (HE) sectors, both internationally and in the UK. I have delivered a wide range of courses in Science Education, Biology, Physics, and health and environmental studies. My academic career included lecturing roles at the University of Education, Winneba, and the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. I have also collaborated with organisations such as World Vision and World Education, Ghana on curriculum design projects and lecturer training programmes. In the UK, I have served as Curriculum Lead for Science and Access to HE and taught across schools and colleges, developing programmes that promote learner progression and meet sector standards.
My diverse professional background enables me to bring real-world examples, applied scientific contexts, and industry-aligned insights into my teaching. I am committed to creating learning experiences that are engaging, accessible, and designed to support students’ academic progression into further study and employment.
In addition to my academic work, I am a Green Changemaker and an active member of Parents for Future UK. These roles enrich my teaching by enabling me to connect science education with contemporary global challenges, sustainability, and the pursuit of positive societal change.
What inspires me most is education’s power to transform lives and communities. I challenge the idea that learning is not just about passing exams-it’s about improving our understanding to take action.
I love the enthusiasm, diversity, and ambition that UCB students bring to the table. Our student-centred ethos and focus on employability attracted me to teach here. In my classes, I create a safe space to make mistakes, offer clear explanations and relatable examples, and give my students plenty of encouragement. I’m really proud of the positive impact I’ve had on my students.
Outside of work, I’m currently reading a book that was a favourite of mine as a child - Bediako the Adventurer by Victor Amarteifio. And I love to crochet.
