"I enjoy helping students to understand how concepts from one industry can apply across multiple sectors - whether improving manufacturing lines, healthcare IT services, software processes, or supply chains."

I have expertise in cybersecurity, networking, databases, web development, operational management, and cloud computing. My industrial experience spans many diverse manufacturing sectors such as textile, polypropylene, carpet, leather and tanning, chemical, footwear, stainless steel industrial pumps and engineering tools. As well as teaching at UCB, I also provide IT consultancy services across the UK and internationally. I therefore bring real-world industry insight directly into my classroom, engaging students with concrete examples, industry language, and practical practices from a broad cross-section of sectors.
I enjoy helping students to understand how concepts from one industry can apply across multiple sectors - whether improving manufacturing lines, healthcare IT services, software processes, or supply chains. My inspiration to teach stems from a desire to pass on the practical cross-industry knowledge I wish I’d had early in my career, and I therefore focus on developing transferable skills such as problem-solving, systems thinking, risk and compliance awareness, and fostering innovation and critical thinking. I take pride in helping students discover career paths they hadn’t considered. I also enjoy supporting students in enhancing their employability through career mapping, networking opportunities, and portfolio development.

Throughout my career, I’ve received several awards and recognitions, including appreciation letters and service awards from organisations acknowledging my work in e-commerce innovation, automation, and system installations. In 2001, I was recognised with the Excellent Services Award for my contribution to the National Survey Data Automation project by the HQ Army Aviation Command in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. My published research investigates cloud computing adoption, implementation, and strategic benefits, helping companies to make informed decisions about their cloud technologies. I’m also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
My students say that I bring lessons to life with real-world examples, and that I foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment where questions are encouraged. My advice to students is to stay curious, ask questions, and be open to developing skills that seem outside of their immediate field - adaptability will be key in solving tomorrow’s problems.
Outside of work, I enjoy developing new digital skills, engaging in DIY projects, exploring the rich and diverse cultural traditions of places like Norway (including traditional Norwegian cuisine and folk festivals) and staying active at the gym.
