"Even after years in elite sport, I get just as excited supporting ‘ordinary’ people in my local community - watching individuals improve and enjoy being active keeps me motivated to do what I do."

I teach Sports Therapy, Strength and Conditioning, and Sports Nutrition, drawing on over a decade of hands-on experience across professional and international basketball, semi-professional football, and private practice. My core expertise includes comprehensive injury assessment and management, rehabilitation planning, return-to-play protocols, manual therapy techniques, performance support, and medical department leadership.
My career covers the full spectrum of sports therapy and rehabilitation. I’ve managed acute injuries, delivered post-surgical rehab, and built and led medical departments for semi-professional football clubs. I’ve also supported elite basketball players at professional and international level, including in advance of Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA) competitions. In private practice, I’ve worked with everyone from recreational athletes to elite performers, adapting high-level techniques to suit individual needs. Alongside teaching and clinical work, I’m completing my MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine.

I’m proud of establishing and running successful medical departments, where I’ve overseen player welfare, introduced monitoring systems, set medical protocols, and mentored medical staff. I have also run successful injury prevention workshops for coaches and athletes, helping teams to improve their availability rates and overall health.
Within my industry, I’m motivated by the desire to help athletes of all levels reach their full potential. Even after years in elite sport, I get just as excited supporting ‘ordinary’ people in my local community - watching individuals improve and enjoy being active keeps me motivated to do what I do.
In the classroom, I try to make every lesson relevant by sharing case studies, real-world examples, and practical insights from my work in diverse sport settings. I focus on showing not just “what” works, but “why” it matters - bridging theory with practice. Having led medical teams and run my own practice, I help students understand teamwork, leadership, and the many career paths open to them after they graduate.
My goal is for students to graduate with the confidence and practical skills they need to step directly into industry. Students tell me that they appreciate the approachable, light-hearted way in which I teach.
A myth that I’d like to bust is that sports therapy is the same as physiotherapy or sports massage. While there is overlap, every profession has its own focus. For me, it’s about supporting growth, resilience, and performance in every athlete, at every stage.
