“A former UCB student myself, and with years under my belt as a professional chef, I bring my real-world catering expertise and passion for perfection to every class.”

I’m passionate about sharing the art and craft of professional cookery with the next generation of chefs. My expertise lies in hospitality and catering, and I also have experience and interest in child and adolescent mental health.
With a background of years spent working as a professional chef, I bring all of this hands-on experience into the classroom. I take great pride in passing on my knowledge of the catering industry to my students, and teaching and mentoring young chefs is my greatest source of inspiration.
I’m especially proud of becoming Head of Department at the College of Food, as it’s a real honour to lead a team and shape the future of our programmes here at UCB. It’s also a special point of pride for me as I was a student here myself, over 30 years ago. My personal journey from student to teacher gives me a unique perspective and a deep understanding of what our students need in order to succeed.

Students often tell me that my lessons are interesting and informative. I try to make every class engaging, practical, and full of real-world insights from my time working in the industry.
My advice to students is simple: always work hard and give 100% effort. Success in the kitchen (and in life) comes from dedication, attention to detail, and a passion for perfection. I believe in setting high standards and supporting students every step of the way as they strive to reach them.
Outside of work, I love spending quality time with my family, especially my two grandchildren.
