Chloe Bee

My professional journey began as a make-up and prosthetic artist for short films and theatre productions. Fast forward to today, I specialise in prosthetics, sculpting, and postiche and here at UCB - where I completed my own studies. My teaching focuses on the ‘Prosthetics for Screen and Stage’ course, as well as ‘Hair and Make-up Business Management’. What excites me most about my field is the boundless creativity it offers. There’s something truly special about crafting unique characters and looks, whether through prosthetic sculpting or intricate hair and make-up design.

I’m always impressed by how eager our students are to learn and grow - their curiosity and enthusiasm make each class dynamic and rewarding. As a student, I was drawn to the supportive community and inspiring learning spaces at UCB, which made me want to return as a lecturer and give back to the institution that helped shape my career. One of the best things about teaching is hearing from former students after they have graduated. Seeing them take pride in their accomplishments is incredibly fulfilling and motivates me to keep supporting the next generation of artists. 

My students often mention how approachable and supportive I am, and I strive to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable to ask questions, experiment, and develop their skills. I encourage my students to take advantage of every opportunity that comes their way. Each experience, big or small, can open new doors and help you to build the career you want.

Outside of work, I like to unwind with creative hobbies such as embroidery and felting. And if you are ever looking  for a TV show to binge, I recommend Grey’s Anatomy, of which I’m a big fan!
