"I bring my three decades of experience to my students on the Nursing course, tapping into my wealth of clinical expertise and real-world insights."

I bring three decades of experience in nursing, and tap into my wealth of clinical expertise and real-world insight when I teach on the Nursing BSc. As well as being a Registered Nurse, I’m also a Non-Medical Prescriber and share my knowledge of the skills and competencies required to prescribe safely. I’m also a Fellow of the Institute for Higher Education.

Over my 30-year career, I’ve held service and clinical lead roles, and I’m especially proud of providing an excellent Stroke and TIA (Transient Ischaemic Attack) service within the NHS. My vast experience means that students benefit from my practical examples and lessons drawn from years on the frontline of healthcare.

I’m committed to creating a supportive learning environment for my students, and I advise my students to make the most of all the extra support available to them while studying at UCB, as it can make all the difference to their success.

A personal highlight for me was being awarded the Police Silver Medal for Bravery in February 2018.
