"For me, effective physiotherapy goes beyond exercise or manual techniques – it’s about understanding each patient as a person, building meaningful connections, and supporting them in achieving their personal goals."

I bring comprehensive expertise in complex musculoskeletal and pain management, clinical triage and clinical education to my lecturing role at UCB. My career has spanned diverse settings, from NHS rotational posts (covering community, rehabilitation, orthopaedics, ITU, and both medical and surgical wards) to private practice responsibilities both in the UK and overseas.
I have worked in clinical, inpatient and community roles and worked in a leadership and mentoring capacity as a clinical lead and clinical mentor. I have led and coordinated large multidisciplinary teams which have included psychologists, pain specialists, dieticians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and social workers, and I’ve enjoyed being part of a large team with a focus on supporting patients to achieve their goals. I have also worked in advanced clinical roles as a First Contact Practitioner (FCP) and Musculoskeletal Clinical Assessment and Triage (MCAT) physiotherapist.
Beyond lecturing, I work clinically as a private practice owner, allowing me to ensure that my skills are up to date and relevant. I completed my PGCert in higher education and am in the process of undertaking my MSc in Musculoskeletal Management to ensure that I’m up-to-date with current evidence, and that my teaching is fully reflective of professional practice. I’m a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP), Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
For me, effective physiotherapy goes beyond exercise or manual techniques - it’s about understanding each patient as a person, building meaningful connections, and supporting them in achieving their personal goals. Helping patients to take ownership of their recovery and supporting students to develop into healthcare professionals is incredibly rewarding, and I enjoy the challenges that come with these roles.
