I teach on our Health and Social Care FE course, with particular interests in safeguarding, communication, equality, diversity and human rights. I’m deeply committed to widening participation, and passionate about motivating young people to work to the best of their ability.

My professional background includes working in a Pupil Referral Unit, special educational needs settings, and alternative provision. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the barriers young people can face, as well as the strategies that help them re-engage, progress, and believe in their potential. Coming from a demotivated background myself, I bring empathy, high expectations, and a strong belief that change is always possible.

Supporting learners to take those next steps and knowing I’ve played a small part in their journey is incredibly rewarding. I’m also an ex-UCB student myself, so I can really relate to my students.

I aim to create a supportive, inclusive environment where everyone is listened to and encouraged. Students often say they enjoy my classes because they feel able to approach me and ask for help. My key piece of advice to new students is: there is always a choice - never give up.

Outside of work, I love to spend time exploring outdoors, travelling, visiting new places, and reading about wellbeing, psychology, and social issues. I really enjoyed watching Save Me on TV.
