Profile

My early career involved postdoctoral research investigating entry strategies of Hepatitis C virus into human liver cells. After a period of reflection I decided that the relative isolation of intensive biomedical research wasn't necessarily making the most of my skillset. I retrained as a teacher and spent 15 years teaching science with a specialism in Biology at two 11-18 comprehensive school on either side of the Malvern Hills.

It is a real privilege to embark on the next challenge in my career teaching Biology  A Level at UCB6. Back in Birmingham where it all began!

Teaching

I have taught Biology, Physics and Chemistry from Year 7 through to Year 11 and A Level Biology to both Y12 and Y13.

Research interests and scholarly activity

All teachers are by nature reflective practitioners so I am keen to continue to support the ongoing professional development aims for our pegagogy at UCB6.
