University College Birmingham's Guild also met with representatives from the University of Warwick Students' Union.
The partnership between University College Birmingham and the University of Warwick was first announced in 2022 and has been years in the making.
Both universities share a focus on benefitting students across the West Midlands via research-led study, widening participation, world-class teaching, strong links to industry and employer networks and exemplary student experiences.
"As students at University College Birmingham, we feel privileged and honoured to be graduating with a degree accredited by University of Warwick, which can provide future opportunities and higher credentials. "

Professor Helen Poole, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Teaching, Learning and Digital) at University College Birmingham said: This partnership has brought together the expertise of two student-led institutions passionate about bringing a wide variety of valuable opportunities to our students. Being able to celebrate with staff and students from the two Universities to discuss the continued strength of the partnership was a real highlight.
"We look forward to the next phase of our collaboration with University of Warwick, and our joint commitment in positively impacting the lives of students as well as those in the West Midlands – from addressing health, education and training outcomes to inequalities for those from our most deprived areas.
Professor Emma Flynn, Provost, at University of Warwick said: "We loved bringing students and staff across our two universities together to celebrate the progress we are making for our region. The barbeque highlighted how the partnership between the University of Warwick and University College Birmingham is blossoming. It was a pleasure to see connections developing, including students from University College Birmingham and the University College Birmingham Guild meeting with their Students Union counterparts at Warwick to discuss shared opportunities.

"The partnership goes beyond student experience, having a significant impact on our region through creating opportunities for local people and skills for business. We are launching an exciting programme of joint investments to widen access to higher education in the West Midlands so there is much to be proud of. I am already looking forward to seeing how the new ideas sparked at this event flourish and hearing more about the outcomes when we are next back together."
While courses are still developed by University College Birmingham, and still delivered in state-of-the-art facilities, graduates on accredited programmes receive their final awards from the University of Warwick.
The two universities also collaborate on other projects, including on a £1.2 million project to grow the West Midlands’s battery manufacturing workforce (alongside other partners and providers), and with Tech West Midlands, providing opportunities for students at the two institutions.
University College Birmingham and University of Warwick also previously worked together on a student-led inclusion project that provided insight into how staff and student co-creators across the two universities practise inclusive education in community values, anti-racist practice, inclusive assessment and queer/trans inclusion.
