UCB had a presence in the first Hospitality Convention to be organised in India for students studying undergraduate hospitality, events and tourism courses in the country.
The event, organised in Mumbai, was an exclusive event for students wanting to enhance their careers within hospitality, hotel management, events management or the travel and tourism industry. Featuring presentations from hoteliers, celebrity chefs and entrepreneurs, the event focused on the trends, advancements and the scope of the hospitality and tourism industry globally and attracted an audience of over 950.
Melvyn Pryer, Director of the International Student Centre at UCB, spoke to the students about recent global developments within the hospitality and tourism industry and shared his experience and suggestions about how to progress within the sector. He outlined the areas covered by UCB’s Travel and Tourism courses, covering key UK hospitality trends, contemporary specialisms for managers and the importance of real experience through participation in live projects and workplace internships.
