New college courses starting from September 2022

Start your career in sustainable engineering and construction

University College Birmingham is proud to unveil a new range of college courses centred around sustainable construction and engineering to meet today's skills and environmental agenda, including COP26 targets and the Future Homes Standard.

New courses will launch from September 2022 – including BTEC Level 2 and 3 courses and T-level qualifications – covering everything from engineering, manufacturing, processing and control to construction, design, surveying and planning. A number of additional courses will also be open from September 2023.

All of our courses will have a key focus on sustainability, enabling learners to play a vital part in shaping the future of these sectors after their studies.

Students on these courses will have access to brand new purpose-built facilities for modern 'green' construction and engineering practices at our city centre campuses. These will include an Industry 4.0 cyber suite, CAD/BIM suite, robotics simulator and a variety of rigs as well as a production line, process manufacturing plant and fluid dynamics software.

With qualified engineers always in high demand and with Britain expected to be in need of more than 200,000 new construction workers by 2025, now is the perfect time to start building the essential skills and knowledge for entering these vital industries and drive their sustainable futures.

Facilities

Students on our construction and engineering courses will learn in brand new real-world training environments under development at University College Birmingham. Our brand new Engineering and Sustainable Construction Centre at the iconic James Cond Building will offer state-of-the-art facilities specifically designed to develop skills that support employers and their supply chains, along with further new facilities at Camden House.
