Finance and accounting professionals are vital to all functions of a business. This course will enable you to apply your analytical abilities efficiently and open up a wide range of career opportunities. Working in collaboration with professional bodies such as ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, AIA, CIOT and ICAEW, the course is designed to ensure you are highly skilled upon completion and that you can apply for exemptions from a range of professional exams in order to become a part or fully certified accountant. As well as a detailed understanding of financial systems, you will gain insight into other business areas including enterprise, marketing, strategy and leadership.

In today's dynamic digital marketplace, graduates need more than theoretical learning alone to compete in the job market. Our course will therefore put you ahead of the competition by offering you early immersion into the markets through leading finance platforms, as well as the opportunity of a paid 12-month work placement, providing you with extensive real-world experience and work-ready skills that will give you the edge when you graduate.

This course will develop your practical and professional skills by exposing you to live and simulated trading in our newly-built Financial Trading Suite. This state-of-the-art facility is powered by the Infront Professional Terminal, combining real-time global market data, news, analytics and electronic trading in one intuitive platform, putting financial markets at your fingertips. We also have an in-house experienced resident trader who will bring your learning to life and enhance your practical skills. We work closely with our industry delivery partners and you will be exposed to the latest technology and become familiar with the digital tools used in professional practice.

Upon completion of the course, you can apply for a number of exemptions from professional bodies (including seven ACCA and eight CIMA exemptions) in order to become a part or fully certified accountant. In addition, you will be able to apply for the CIMA Gateway examination, while you will also have the opportunity to complete the Infront Professional Terminal (trading) certificate as part of your course at no additional cost.

Students studying the FdSc will have the option of progressing onto the final year of the BSc (Hons).
