Stephanie is "on fleek" for TV's "extreme makeover" show
Make-up student Stephanie Harrison is under the spotlight in a new TV show delving into the world of “extreme image lovers.”
Stephanie, a first-year Specialist Hair and Media Make-up undergraduate, was handpicked for the Channel 4 programme “Extreme Makeovers: On Fleek,” which airs on November 8.
The show features “contour kings and queens to bad Barbies and cyber mermaids,” showcasing their makeover skills and stunning transformations.
Stephanie, of Tamworth, Staffordshire, was filmed at her home and at University College Birmingham’s make-up studios at Richmond House. She also travelled to Channel 4’s studios in London with other make-up artists to demonstrate her “smart alternative” style, which the producers dubbed “cyber goth.”
Her look for the programme took an hour to complete and involved face-paint and lashings of glitter. “I have an obsession with glitter,” explains Stephanie. “I do glitter tattoos at a local rock club at weekends. They last for about three to five days if you don’t wash them off.”
Stephanie, who can be seen around university wearing her distinctive rainbow dreadlocks, says the show is meant to be a celebration of distinctive looks and styles. She cannot wait for it to be broadcast but admits to being apprehensive about her TV debut.
Alongside her degree studies, the 24-year-old student works as a freelance artist and says it is important for her to invest time in her appearance. “I make an effort because I am promoting my business and I like to look a bit sharp!” she says.
Stephanie’s freelance commitments include photo shoots for publications and websites – and work on an independent zombie film called “Chloe.”
