Profile
I trained as a hairdresser and managed a successful salon before diverting my skills to training apprentice hairdressers and developing their potential within a private training academy Birmingham in 1998. I joined University College Birmingham in 2001 where I continued to give practical and theoretical training, pastoral care and guidance to my students. I have been involved with many live projects, competition work, hair fashion shows and photo shoots and worked with publishing companies for educational text books prior to publication and industry standards review boards. I specialise in cutting techniques and is currently part of the hairdressing and barbering team. My current area of interest is aesthetic and fashion history.
