I studied Beauty Therapy at Level 2 and Level 3 at University College Birmingham and went on to work at Champneys Henlow Grange in Bedfordshire as a therapist where I gained extensive treatment and product knowledge in a variety of product houses including Guinot, Clairins, Decleor, Phytomer and Dermalogica Skincare programmes and Signature Treatments. I returned to Birmingham and went on to work at The Swallow Hotel and Hotel du Vin as Senior Therapist as well as working in various high street salons. I moved into education in September 2001 and went on to teach and manage the Level 2 and Level 3 NVQ Beauty Therapy programmes in Further Education. I have taught Beauty Therapy across a variety of programmes including BTEC and NVQ programmes working with both VTCT and ITEC qualifications. In 2011 I undertook a Masters Degree in Education on a part-time basis with the Open University which I achieved in December 2014. I was appointed Senior Curriculum Leader for Beauty Therapy at UCB in January 2013 where I was able to start to develop the Further Education Beauty Therapy curriculum and support the team within a growing area of study. In September 2014, I moved into Higher Education where I am Year Manager, tutor and lecturer to the BA/FdA Level 4 and Level 5 Beauty Therapy Management students.

I have undertaken research into Investigating Practice in the Curriculum, Learning and Assessment, Educational Enquiry and Language as a Medium for Teaching and Learning.
