Profile

I studied Event Management at University College Birmingham. After graduation, I joined a business development agency as an events and marketing coordinator. I then worked for Birmingham Mind as a wellbeing development coordinator, responsible for sourcing business development opportunities, developing wellbeing short courses and planning community events including public sector employee training days.

I then relocated to Wales and worked for the Knowledge Academy as a business skills trainer, delivering training in the European division including Spain and Turkey. I later relocated to China to teach at Shandong Technology and Business University, where I was responsible for designing and delivering foundation degree programmes in management and economics. While in China, I started my own event management consultancy, helping foreign expats promote their products and services in the Chinese market.

I completed my teaching qualification at Staffordshire University in conjunction with Thomas Telford City Technology College teaching Business Level 3 Foundation Diploma.

I joined University College Birmingham in 2019. In my role as a business lecturer, I am involved in the planning and design of educational programmes. I take a leading role in the design and delivery of innovative programmes including the new Business and Finance Diploma programme.

My teaching philosophy is to provide practical and relevant education that helps students become aware of their options after further education. I am committed to ensuring the programmes taught in FE Business are structured and delivered to best serve our students for their future careers.
