Profile
My career began in the world of banking, finance and marketing for Barclays Bank PLC, responsible for managing and leading teams of staff at various locations in the West Midlands. After a career break to raise a family, I re-trained and worked in areas of interest including beauty therapy, fitness training, sports massage and therapy. Additional qualifications enabled me to progress my career further and in 1995, I entered the world of teaching and education. In 2000, I joined University College Birmingham as a lecturer and in 2004, developed and led on the first degree level qualification in the School, BSc/FdSc Sports Therapy. Appointed as Assistant Dean in 2005, provided me with the opportunity to develop additional higher education qualifications that have created new markets as well as providing strong progression opportunities for UCBs further education students. In 2009, I was appointed as Dean of the School and now lead and manage the School of Sport and Creative Services which consists of 97 staff and 1400+ students (FE and HE).
