Profile

I have a keen interest in the effective communication of our Teaching, Learning and Assessment Strategy and support of staff in their teaching and learning, at all levels of UCB provision. My current role in the Directorate is informed by my MA Educational Leadership and Innovation, and Doctoral studies around enhancing Teaching and Learning through Distributed Leadership.

Prior to my career in education, I studied Hospitality Business Management at UCB before completing a BSc Hospitality Administration at Southern New Hampshire University (USA). I worked for Marriott and Sheraton in the United States in both Hospitality operations and Front of House management positions. In 1995 I joined Warwick Conferences at the University of Warwick as an Events Manager and managed corporate, association and voluntary sector events. I also trained internal academics in conference management and was a member of the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO). I moved into Sales before joining UCB in 2003. Initial teaching responsibilities were in the areas of Front Office and Facilities Management. I was then part of the developmental team for UCB’s Event Management programmes and I have since taught and managed both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and modules within the Hospitality and Events Management curriculum.
