UCB a sweet Centre of Excellence

UCB has been recognised as a Centre of Excellence in Patisserie and Confectionery by the Hospitality Guild.
Research by People 1st found that employers were struggling to find staff with the necessary level of skill in patisserie and confectionery and required well-trained recruits. UCB was recognised because of its high standard of training delivery in this specialist area, and its commitment to ensuring learners gain the skills they need to enter the industry.
UCB can use its new status as a Centre of Excellence to demonstrate to employers of patisserie and confectionary chefs that it has the facilities to help meet their business needs, both through clear development pathways and direct links to industry.
Student numbers on UCB’s bakery and patisserie courses have grown by more than 60 per cent thanks to the nation’s high interest in baking, due in part to the popularity of television shows such as Great British Bake Off.
