Nitisha is left "speechless" by new book

Read time: approx 1 mins

A cookery book penned by a former UCB student will soon be taking its place on the shelves of two major high street retailers.

Nitisha Patel’s first book, My Modern Indian Kitchen, is released next month by London-publishers Ryland Peters and Small. It will be stocked by Waterstones and WHSmith, and will be available on Amazon.

Packed with foolproof recipes which can be created at home with minimum fuss, the book is inspired by the food she enjoyed at home in Wolverhampton with her Gujarati parents and informed by the training she received on UCB’s Culinary Arts Management (CAM) course.

Describing the moment she first saw the book, Nitisha said: “It’s not often I’m speechless. It was the most beautiful thing I’d seen in my life. My family loves it which is so important to me because it has been a personal journey.

“I thought having my book on Amazon was good enough, but to have two of the biggest high street book shops stock it is just amazing. It’s also available in America and numerous independent book shops have made enquiries.”

Nitisha, a former Highfields Science Specialist School pupil, is now researching a second book on Indian-inspired superfood.

My Modern Indian Kitchen can be pre-ordered now on Amazon and at Waterstones and WHSmith.
