The Guild for Further Education Students

Hello, my name is Tyrone Fowles and I am the Further Education

Officer for the Student Guild. My job involves a variety of

responsibilities, ranging from a number of issues, such as, sexual

health, EMA/16-19 Bursary Scheme and transport. I also ensure

that the Further Education students have fun whilst studying at

UCB by working alongside the events officer to organise parties and

trips away to give you some time out from the busy schedule of

college.

As I am sure you have heard through the media, it has been a tough

year for FE students! The Student Guild is working alongside the

National Union Students to ensure that you as students get the very

best from UCB.

I know that you are probably feeling quite nervous, but you shouldn’t

be as you are thinking of joining one of the best colleges in the UK and

I give you my word that University College Birmingham will not leave

you behind when you need them the most. I did my National Diploma

in Travel and Tourism here for two years and those two years were

the best in building confidence and lifelong experience; and that is why

I choose to stay and do a degree!

Lastly, I would just like to finish off by saying that my door is always

open for a chat or you can book an appointment in my FE surgery

and remember . . . you only get out as must as you put in.
