Library and Resource Centre

Libraries

We have two libraries that provide information resources for all our students. The Summer Row site has a Library on the 5th floor and a separate resource centre on the 1st floor, and the Richmond House Site has a combined library and resource centre on the 4th floor. Both Summer Row and Richmond House resource areas provide ample access to computer, printing and photocopying facilities.

How can we help you?

As a student at University College Birmingham, you will be able to use our wide range of books, journals, and electronic databases that provide access to numerous journal articles, abstracts, market research papers and ebooks. If you wish to request journal articles or books from other libraries, we offer an interlibrary loan service. Our online catalogue features many useful guides and access to online reading lists.

The friendly library staff will be available to help with any general requests for information or assistance, and in addition you will have the support of a Subject Librarian. There are four Subject Librarians at the College who help students with their resource enquiries and liaise with lecturers to ensure that any resources required within their subject area are ordered for the Library. The Subject Librarians also provide an induction for newly enrolled students, covering essential library information that will enable students to make the most of the resources on offer. Any student wanting to improve their knowledge of online databases will be able to attend the regular online resources workshops that are provided by the Subject Librarians.
