Job Shop

There are many ways that students can gain the work experience and employability skills required by employers in a competitive labour market. One option is for students to undertake a placement or internship during their course.

Another option is to gain this experience and additional income by taking up part time or seasonal work. Jobshop, situated within the Careers and Employability Centre, is designed to assist students find these employment opportunities.

Services Include:

  • Advice and guidance on available jobs and which ones are suitable for you.
  • Help with contacting the employers and interview arrangements.
  • Interview follow up and feedback service.
  • Information on Gap Years, Internships, Summer Jobs and seasonal work.
  • Providing information on Graduate Schemes and vacancies.
  • Employment Law and working rights.
  • Information for International Students on National Insurance, Tax, Work Permits and Registration Schemes.
