Careers and Employability
“Now more than ever, it is important to make sure your CV will stand out in a crowd” says Hazel Foggin, UCB’s Head of Careers.
“There’s more to an impressive CV than quality paper and a spell check. Yes, it is important that it looks good but content is all important. Employers are interested in people who can offer more than a qualification, who can demonstrate they have made the effort to acquire additional skills. This could be through part time employment, voluntary work or extra courses. I guarantee, you’ll be glad you thought about it now and not later.” says Hazel.
In addition to the careers advice and support offered within each programme the Career and Employability Centre offers an extensive service to all our students providing impartial advice and guidance on all aspects of further and higher education and employment.
Read our Employability Statement.
Students will be offered information, advice and guidance regarding how to demonstrate the employability skills and attributes acquired during their time at college. Skills such as problem solving, team work, time management, communication and IT will benefit the students, the employers and the wider economy.
