Student Profile - Young Guns

Suzanna Hunt and Daniel Wills were nominated for a national award on their return from placement, the annual Young Guns competition recognises hospitality students who excelled in their work placements and are able to demonstrate their future potential.

Suzanna and Daniel achieved their accolades during two very different 48 week industrial placements. A course module on contract catering opened up Daniel's eyes to the business and he was amazed to learn about the diversity of roles and sectors that contract catering covers. With eye opened Daniel completed his placement with contract caterers Sedexo, based primarily in Peterborough Daniel was also given the opportunity to attend events such as Royal Ascot and to get involved with catering on London Bateaux.

Suzanna's placement took her to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA, where the Captains House Bed and Breakfast provided the setting for her year in industry. The Captains House is a prestigious 16 bedroom establishment which along with Bed & Breakfast offers guests and day visitor’s lunch and afternoon tea, alongside holding weddings and other functions.
