Student Profile - Nil Wang
Back home in China, I'd heard this was a good college with good-value courses covering the sorts of subjects I wanted to study. This programme is perfect for me as it includes business aspects, yet it is still very creative.
I enjoyed the first year as I was learning about a subject I was interested in and which would be useful for me in the future. I've also worked in the marketing resource centre and the College library, which was all good experience.
Birmingham is a good place to study in - it's a big city, but it's not too busy, although it's large enough to have all the facilities you need for shopping or going out.
I live in the Maltings, which is in a good location as it means you don't need a car –you can walk everywhere from there. The College, the city centre and Chinatown are all about ten minutes away.
I work as a student ambassador, which I really enjoy. It allows you to meet new students and make new friends. I also work in the college library, which is great as you can study as you work.
After completing my undergraduate degree in Marketing with Hospitality Management I went on to a Masters in Hospitality with Tourism Management and plan to return to China to take up a senior position there when I have submitted my dissertation.
