Student Profile - Michael Krawczyk

MA Tourism Business Administration

I originally came to UCB as an Erasmus student on the BA (Hons) Tourism Business Management programme. As I had such a good experience I was keen to carry on for an additional year to complete my MA Tourism Business Administration, to give myself more chances to learn and open up opportunities for my career.

The method of learning at the college is very different to Poland, my home country. Here the tutors encourage you to really get into your subject, giving lots of practical examples from the tourism industry. They give you an objective view of a subject, looking at the negative and positive sides, and then let you make your own judgement.

I particularly enjoyed the residential trip to do a live project in Cyprus. It was well organised and we learnt a lot – and we had some good social times too!

Whilst at UCB I also worked part time as a hotel receptionist and in my spare time I have travelled to places like Paris, London and Berlin with my friend which has been great.

I have already registered my own business in Poland, where I plan to organise trips to teach people snowboarding in Austria and Italy and in the future New Zealand. What I leant on the course, in areas like strategic risk and business enterprise is really helping me to achieve my goals.
