Student Profile - Ewelina Jarosz
FdA Salon Management
I am originally from Wadowice in Poland, best known as the home town of Pope John Paul II and studied in Krakow.
I first came to the UK during a summer break in my studies I had a summer job in Devon, I arrived back in Poland after the break to discover that I had been chosen to come to UCB on an Erasmus programme so re-packed my bags, turned around and came to Birmingham. After a semester in Birmingham I returned to Krakow to complete my studies in tourism, returning to Birmingham again the following year taking up Salon Management to complement my previous studies.
Living in Birmingham has been a great experience, I live near the reservoir which is lovely to jog around; I love living here.
I had the opportunity to compete in the UK skills competition last year in Leicester, it was a valuable experience, I competed in the advanced reflexology category. The facilities at UCB are amazing with great places to study and resources such as the design studio have been invaluable to me.
I've had a part time job as a therapist at the Spa at Hotel Du Vin in Birmingham and will be continuing to work there now I've completed my studies.
