BA (Hons) Events Management

I was interested in a Management subject and after talking to lecturers at the University College became convinced that events is where the future is going. Events Management covers a variety of disciplines including business and marketing and careers can cover so many areas from wedding planning and product launches to mega events like the 2012 Olympics.

The first year has been fantastic; we covered all the basics as well as building a good foundation to use for the second year. The course has a great mix of people of different ages and backgrounds which really helps with stimulating ideas.

During the summer I worked on a live event, launching a new product for my own contract cleaning company, which was a great success. In the future I want to start my own events company specialising in corporate events and product launches – but who knows the direction it may eventually take. My one piece of advice for anyone considering Events Management is to come with an open mind!
