Tatenda Annie Samwanda
Hospitality with Events Management BA (Hons)
I chose UCB because it is a multicultural university offering different courses to everyone. They make students from all over the world feel welcome.
The best part of my course was my placement where I learned and experienced what it is like working in the industry. I now work as a Food and Beverage Assistant and meet many people on a daily basis. The best part of the job is having the chance to learn not only about working in the bar and restaurant but also the administration side. This is a great experience because I have gained more skills, enabling me to go into a different sector of the business.
I would recommend UCB because it is not just a university but a way of life to people who are willing to learn and be a part of something new and exciting. My advice to someone thinking of taking the course would be to go for it, because taking hospitality with events management is full of adventure and fun. You won’t be in lectures doing assignments and presentations all the time, you will be cooking as chefs and travelling to different exhibitions and conference centres to get a feeling of how events are planned and the sheer variety of the industry.
