International Tourism Business Management BA (Hons)

I chose UCB because it is a growing university where there are many learning opportunities for students. I really wanted to study in a large city and I know UCB’s courses are accredited by the University of Birmingham. The best part of the course was the field trips we took: one was in the UK and another was in Prague, Czech Republic.

I would recommend UCB because it is a multi-cultural environment. The best thing I found at UCB was the helpful and supportive staff. I loved being part of a diverse university that offers so many different courses. It was very nice to take part in events organised by other students taking different courses, which included dinner events, beauty events and sports-related events such as therapy massages. Having a practical side to my studies was very important to me: being able to go out and do primary research, taking part in debates and doing presentations has definitely developed my communication skills.

Right now I am working full-time as a travel counsellor at HRG North America in Canada. My job involves dealing with customers and assisting them to book travel or just change existing reservations. I work on Sabre (which is a Global Distribution System) and I enjoy the job because I am working closely with various airlines and aviation has always been one of my passions. My career plans are to one day work for an airline and travel more for work.
