Events Management BA (Hons)
I chose UCB for a variety of reasons. Above all, the university came well-recommended by previous students, particularly as far as my chosen course was concerned.
I must say the best part of the course were the opportunities to put the theory into practice. Through the effort of the course leaders and because the UCB Event Management course became a well-known 'source' of eager, knowledgeable and trustworthy workers in the conference and event fields in Birmingham and outside, I had the opportunity to work on a number of events during the three years I was an undergraduate.
I felt well taken care of at UCB, and, as a European student who suddenly found herself alone in a foreign country, that meant a lot. The dedication of the lecturers was inspiring, and I must admit I also quite enjoyed all the course-required UK and international field trips.
I am employed as Project Administrator at Opening Doors & Venues – a small, independent, Midland-based professional conference organising company. It was through the Event Management course I was first introduced to OD&V and had the chance to work with the company during university years on a number of events, which helped me prove my abilities.
