Sports Therapy BSc (Hons)

I chose to study Sports Therapy because of my fascination with physiology, exercise and the impact it has on the human body. I wanted to learn more about injuries, how they present themselves and how to prevent and treat them.

During my time at UCB I worked alongside senior therapists at a local rugby club, Shrewsbury Town Football Club and supported athletes at Ride Across Britain. I have worked with Walsall Council, assisting the elderly in falls prevention and balance classes, as well as in the UCB gym.

I now work for a rugby club and am responsible for assessing the fitness of their second team, taping and strapping their injuries and aiding recovery through sports massage techniques. I have set my sights on teaching, so I want to continue my academic studies whilst building on the wealth of practical experience I have gained at UCB.

UCB offers a phenomenal amount of support to its students. There is a family feel to the university – everyone is really friendly, which makes for a comfortable and informal learning environment.
