Bakery and Confectionery Technology FdSc
After attending a UCB open day, I was really impressed with the bakery courses and the facilities. I looked forward to taking a much-loved hobby and gaining the knowledge and skills to enable me to turn it into a future career.
I really enjoy the practical sessions as well as learning about the science behind baking. I am being taught to a very high standard with experienced lecturers who know the industry well.
One of the highlights for me was attending the annual conference of the Alliance of Bakery Students and Trainees. My success in their competitions was very rewarding after all my hard work and preparation. I am really proud of my achievements in the competition; the experience I gained and the contacts I made will hold me in good stead for the future.
