Hospitality with Tourism Management MA
I first looked at UCB because it is known for being one of the best universities for culinary and hospitality. I visited the institute and found the atmosphere warm and friendly. I really enjoyed the challenge of independent learning on the course; giving me the ability to explore areas of research that interested me. We also went on residential trip to Amsterdam spending a week looking at how the Amsterdam tourist board marketed the city, and applied the hands on research we did to one of our modules.
I am currently working within the University’s Student Services department assisting with the accommodation administration work. I also set up my own ecommerce business, trading in women’s clothing and accessories which I do on a part-time basis. This is adding to my experience and development of interpersonal and soft skills. After I finish the course, I will be looking for a graduate job within the hospitality sector to gain a wealth in knowledge in the hope of opening my own restaurant.
I would recommend UCB because it has a long running background in vocational studies. I personally think that this significantly improves your job prospects giving you professional skills and knowledge relevant to your future career. I think that students should take part in a placement because it changes your outlook on the world. UCB have strong connections with top employers and it can really make you and your CV stand out when applying for jobs.
