Profile
My career started as a Financial Planning Manager in Banking, I worked for HSBC for 10 years in the London and the Southern Home Counties. I then moved to the field of education, which I have worked in for the last 10 years. My previous posts have been at The Arthur Terry School, Four Oaks and St Edmund Campion Catholic School in Erdington both serving very different and diverse communities.
My present role here at UCB is Lead Lecturer in Mathematics, I have enjoyed teaching mathematics since 2005 at a variety of different levels including primary to secondary and now further education. The majority of my teaching experience has been at the secondary level teaching GCSE mathematics. Instilling the belief that young people can enjoy Mathematics and its application in society around them inspires me to motivate our learners on a daily basis. This opportunity to teach our students here at UCB provides me with the perfect setting to enquire further into the subject and generate vocationally relevant resources that benefit and develop not only my own pedagogy around teaching, learning and assessment but support the learning of my vocationally diverse students.
Teaching
Primarily teaching GCSE maths, I have taught across all key stages including KS2, KS3, KS4 and have some experience at KS5. I currently want to embed mathematics across the curriculum in all vocational areas using a wide range of strategies and new technology.
