International Tourism Business Administration MA
The course content within the International Tourism Business Administration Masters degree was quantitative, profound and practical, especially with regards to turbulent markets and the stalling global economy.
Among my achievements whilst attending UCB was developing the Travel and Tourism Society. As the founder and president of the society, I developed links with guest speaker event and invited Greg Yeoman, Executive Director of the National Tourism Society, to share his knowledge and experience with us.
To help cover my living costs during my studies I took a job at a Hilton hotel where I learned the importance of good communication, teamwork and understanding the tasks required. I also got the chance to do an internship at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. My trip to USA and the experience at Walt Disney World as a Cast Member was fantastic as I develop professional and personal skills. Frequent interactions with the park’s visitors enhanced my interpersonal communication skills and improved my ability to work under pressure, as the park would get extremely busy during the summer.
I have recently started my role in the operations department at EasyJet. I believe that my passion for the airline industry and my experience at UCB set me apart from the other candidates. During my time at UCB, I worked with some of my colleagues on a project that aimed to discover new business opportunities for EasyJet and my dissertation subject was based on the airline industry, discussing scenario planning as a strategic method that airline companies can use in order to foresee future trends and prepare for the unknown.
Therefore, during my interview at EasyJet, I was able to confidently share all the achievements and experiences I had during my time at UCB which, in the end, helped me fulfil my dream of working for one of the top airline companies in the world.
