PGCE Primary QTS (3-7 pathway)
Awarded a bursary to do her PGCE at UCB, Jessica was bowled over by the quality of the teaching she received during her time at the University.
However, another key factor in her decision to study at UCB was the prospect of having tutors that would provide expert guidance and encouragement throughout her journey.
“I chose to study at UCB because they offered me a bursary, but it also looked like there was a lot of support provided throughout the course,” she said.
“The best part of my training was reuniting with my classmates after our long stints on placement and celebrating our successes together.
“Now, I’m working in early years as a teacher and one of the highs of my job is seeing how far my students have come since September and knowing I am responsible for that progress. The long hours can be challenging at times, but it’s worth it to see the smiles on the children’s faces.
“I would highly recommend UCB to anyone considering thinking of taking a PGCE, the staff and mentors on the team are outstanding. I received a distinction for my placement and wouldn’t have done so without the impeccable support of the UCB staff.
“In terms of advice for aspiring teachers, organisation, organisation, organisation!”
