Global Meeting and Events Management MSc

I chose to study at UCB because they offered an excellent events management courses and the city of Birmingham was also an attraction. I think the best thing about UCB is that it equips students with both practical and theoretical skills. Birmingham also has so much to offer students and there are lots of events and facilities you can use for your studies, such as the Birmingham Library.

An important part of the Global Meetings and Events Management course experience is the practical experience, we had organising events from scratch, which was fun and interesting. I also volunteered for a lot of other events in my free time and also interned in the UCB finance office and in hired@UCB. I had the chance to develop key skills and to realise the extent of my creativity and industry knowledge.

What I love about the Global Meetings and Events Management course at UCB is that you get to work with industry and work towards realistic deadlines and resources, which forces you to be creative, flexible and organised. It might sound stressful, but nothing compares to the feeling you get when you successfully finish an event.

I’d recommend that students gain lots of events-related experience during their studies, this will make them employable. Birmingham is filled with exciting events and venues where you can gain work or volunteer.
