Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) Level 3 Diploma
I started UCB straight after secondary school on the CAHCE diploma childcare and education course. I chose UCB because my older sister was studying at here and always told me how much she enjoyed it. I then continued on to university to study for a BA (Hons) in Childhood Studies.
One piece of careers advice I’d give to a student is to seek help, which I have done in our careers department, hired@UCB, or ask the lectures what paths you can take after studying the course. I took part in a placement in my first year when I was given the opportunity to attend a school, nursery or a playgroup, twice a week. In my second year I had to do a placement once a week within a childcare setting which I enjoyed a lot.
I am currently going into my last year of the course and wish to continue studying here to complete my masters. I would recommend UCB because I really enjoy my time being at this university and the experiences are great. For anyone wishing to take part in the course I would suggest doing a lot of reading, try to be organised, ask for help when needed and just enjoy it.
